Oh wow, he has apparently unblocked me. I guess now I can send a PM and get it ignored again! | | | "Can we say that we've evolved? Take a look at the world. We've EVILUTED!" - Ronnie James Dio |

Quote: Well, to lighten things up a bit around here I'm copying a posting from the German Profiler Forum (I hope this is ok with you, Darxon - this is simply too funny to be kept away from the IVS forum ).
It certainly is ok to put this here, I always like to share my sense of humor with others (that was the reason for the post to begin with).
However, I didn't know about TTH's "status" in this forum as well...
Well, there's people that manage to p**s off others who don't know them at all in a heartbeat.
Hey Skip, you can seriously lash out here, if you like. As long as TTH goes for it, we are in for a lenghty - but useless - debate on db principles. I'll get my popcorn and reserve a front row seat... | | | |

| Posted: | | | | I am not worried about having to lash out. Db principles can be debated all over the place, what TTH has to learn is that he doesn't run this program, nor do I. We follow the direction as provided by IVS, if he doesn't like the way IVS has chosen to handle this program he is under no compunction to use it. Instead of being an offensive and potentially damaging user, he should go find himself a program that functions the way HE wants it to. So there is no need even for debate. All he has done thus far is annoy many of the user community in his manner so...whatever he does is his business. But just as with myself; I expect him to follow the Rules and any guidance provided by IVS.

Okay. Maybe this is a language barrier or your just not willing to understand. But I’ll try to explain it do you one final time:
On the one hand you got collectors. They collect DVDs just to have them. They rarely, if ever, watch them. They are much like winecollectors: collect, but never drink. (I know, that is not entirely true, I’ve seen Sideways. I’m just overstating this right now, so bear with me.) They are more interested in that the all mighty Rules are obeyed and followed and every I is dotted and every T crossed. They don’t really care about movies. They are much more like CPAs who have to make sure that everything is correct, everything is in order. Much like GeStaPo’s in a 1984 police state.
On the other hand you got - as I said, what I like to call Tarantinos – like me. PPL who like and care about movies. For them the most information, credited or not, is only the beginning. The more info the better.
Let me give you an example: Beverly Hills Cop had eight (!) writers and one person who had the original idea back in the day when Steve McQueen was still alive. That script was originally for him, but it lay dormant for a long time. According to the film credits, who are based on the ruling of the WgoA only three or four of these writers are to be credited for the movie and they are in the credits as such.
It might be correct as to the Rules just to credit these four in the profile, but for a real film buff that is simply not acceptable.
These rules are faulty because they omit information!
You follow now what I’m saying?
Yeah, we ALL follow what you're saying. YOU ARE DEAD WRONG! You obviously don't get the fact that your LOCAL database is where you set things as YOU want them. DO NOT do it in the online database. That's why there are rules.
It is patently obvious you don't give a damn what the rules say. Well, we don't give a damn what YOU want! | | | John

| Posted: | | | | I wasn't sure if it was just me he blocked because I called him an idiot. Matters not, I'd always voted no to his contributions anyway without bothering to pm him first (they were so inaccurate I didn't feel it was worth it). |

| Posted: | | | | I am not sure if I ever seen a contribution from him, myself... but I do know it is getting tiring seeing him vote no to my contributions all the time. But oh well... his no votes will be ignored by me... won't let him stop me from contributing... that is for sure. | | | Pete DVD Profiler Friendly TV Show Episode Guides
