Your are right, it's so bloody easy to completely screw things up with a simple script that no-one in his right mind will automate such a "do once" affair.

No, you haven't
Lock votes refer to profiles, not contribution. People can vote to lock certain parts of a profile so it cannot be changed again. A certain number of lock votes is required for something to be locked.

Are you using a free email address by any chance (i.e. Hotmail style account)?
These are blocked from voting unless you are a premium member to reduce the ability to abuse the system.
