| Posted: | | | | This thread is so cool... I've found at least seven sets that I own where I had not known there were child profiles available!
Thank you everyone!

Would that be this set? If so, it definitely contains at least some different discs to the original ones, I don't think S1 had commentaries the first time round.
Jolly tempting that... or maybe the Starburst editions from the US... |

What are "child profiles" and how you use them?
Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | Child profiles are the profile for individual disc's inside a boxset.
ie Naked Gun boxset contains the following child profiles:- Naked Gun Naked Gun 2 1/2 Naked Gun 33 1/3
therefore four profiles for the set in this case if you have that set you would down load all the profiles, then edit the boxset profile and add the three child profiles so when you view your own local database Naked Gun boxset will have a +(plus sign) next too it and just below that title but indented will be the three child profiles for the three individual movies.
hope this explains it a bit.

Of course, in the context of this thread, we are talking about TV seasons that have been treated like box sets and had individual profiles added for discs, or separate packaging inside the season. | | | in canada, no one can hear you scream |

CliffL I was trying to answer Fragland's question about child profiles and how to use them, not debating about whether a TV season should be treated as a boxset or not.
Personally I think that if individual DVD's are released through a season (2, 3 or more episodes per DVD) and then later the producer / distributer decides to re-release the same disc's in one set either in separate keepcases or as a digipack then it should be classed as a boxset since the originals episode have already been released, but that is I suppose another debate.

Yes, I fully understood what you were saying, I just wanted to clarify it with the context of this thread. I was expressing no personal opinion at all, nor was I assuming to know your opinion. | | | in canada, no one can hear you scream |

Jolly tempting that... or maybe the Starburst editions from the US... Missed your reply, but anyway, The set is not that. Its the cheaper one, looks like that:

AFAIK, "mine" has less extras and worse packaging (40 discs on regular keepcases makes that boxset about 50cm wide ) |
