This software is automatic.  Did the software prompt you saying something to the effect "..the current UPC is not in the Database, and would you like to contribute it.."?  Once it asks you that, you should answer yes.  After that the hard part is setting your mail server. That is important in order to be able to submit.  See "Socket Error.." in the Tech Form area on what to do for that.  I hope this helps.

So how do you add dvd's that have no UPC# ?

I have the DTS Demo DVD and the Dolby Digital "We've Got The Whole World Listening" DVD, but neither of them have a UPC #.....

I just had the same problem entering DVDs like VersaDisc and Inside DVD magazines which have no UPC codes. I put them in my own data base by entering bogus UPC codes, but I don't think there is a way to contribute one without a UPC.

These things aren't handled very well by Profiler now, anyhow, so I'm not overly concerned. But I did want them to show up in my list. If that's all you want, make up UPC codes (it won't let you reuse one -- like 9999999999 -- so you'll have to do a unique code for each disc you want to add).

There's no need to use fake UPCs.  When a DVD does not have a UPC, the best solution is to add it by Disc ID (if you have a DVD-ROM drive).  If not, you can add it without a upc by selecting 'Add by title' and unchecking 'download from ivs'.

Thanks, Ken. I had tried adding by Disc ID and Title, but I didn't notice the check box for "Download from IVS". So the Add DVD button was greyed out on the Disc ID screen and I couldn't figure out a way to add it from the Title screen. Still learning  .

Glad I could help    This software "rocks".  The more you use it, the more you will like it.

Ken,
How close are you to the new release?

Fairly close - we'll post more when we're confident of a date.
