Also, I don't think books should go under digipack. As I said, they're quite different. I'd think they should go under custom until this case type is added to the list. | | | Do you like commentaries? | | | Last edited: by Ace_of_Sevens |

| Posted: | | | | The reason I sugest that "Book" type cases go under "Digipak" is that the page is the same as those in the regular "digipak" cases. The only difference is that instead of folding out, it has pages. | | | Dan W

| Posted: | | | | So would I (since it is made by Digipak!), except when it forms only the internal part of a larger custom case...
Ace, I would say that the defining characteristic of a digipak (apart from the manufacturer..) is the plastic trays that hold the disc. The only difference between a standard digipak, a digistack and a book is how the the trays are joined together.
Therefore I can't really see why you think digipak isn't appropriate. | | | Doug

| Posted: | | | | I agree, Doug. I would split that hair the same way we did for Private Ryan.
If it is attached to a "Custom" case then it's "Custom". Otherwise "Digipak" it is.
We need to keep it simple because the rep from Digipak, who I spoke to about these cases a few months ago, said they are making new cases and selling them to DVD companies as we speak. The only difference is the outer sleeve/binder.
Unless digipak makes one that becomes popular, I see no reason to complicate things inside the program. This thread, and perhaps something in the "Contribution Guide," is all we really need. | | | Dan W

Quote: Thank you Dan! I've only seen one case that I would think is described as 'book' & that would be the type used for Region 2 Buffy & Angel boxsets. Have to say, a scan similar to yours would be very difficult!
This one still hasn't been addressed, and is more a book style than the recent digipak.
Apologies, but you can't scan this & I don't have a digital camera, but it is literally a carboard outer sleeve, with a cardboard inner, that has metal screws down the spine, the dvds are slid into the cardboard sleeves within the 'inner' with a soft backing.

If you look at the image, the left hand bit slides out & then the cardboard inner sections hinge out.

Ahh forgot about custom for some reason.
Thanks. | | | Nick

| Posted: | | | | What about The Lonesome Dove collection, what type of case is it considered? also in case you dont have it, let me explain, (note:this is the same for all 3 movies), the case holds two dvds, it is wider than most 2 disc sets though, made of some type of gray plastic, but other thyan all that it is sorta like a keep case. | | | |
