I think it's pretty easy.
Normal profile: Whatever we do with a release that does not have two discs with the same main feature. We put everything in this profile what can be found inside the case
Details for the main media type: Well, specific film details for the feature on the main medium, that's audio tracks, subtitles, running time. Features are not film details and not specific to a disc or film version, which means, all features go into the main profile.
But most important is that child profiles are optional. If they are not mandatory one would lose information if the features just go into the child profile. Not everyone cares about the included lesser medium. A lot of people just take it for the bonus materials. With TV shows separate child profiles per disc are allowed but optional as well, and everything goes into the main profile, too. You are incorrect. The rules are perfectly clear about this. Combos are to be entered as normal profiles which means that all features belong to the main profile. But you are allowed to use a child profile for the included lesser medium.
There are just 2-3 users who want to push their opinion and this is going on for years now. But they never got their way and are still hammering.
Those contributions which remove features from combo profiles are almost everytime rejected and if not the contributions which correct this are always accepted even with a few NO-votes. | Posted: Topic Replies: 47, Topic Views: 21040 | |
