Thanks for your tidy response, however, there are still some points that need clarification:

I think it's pretty easy.
Normal profile: Whatever we do with a release that does not have two discs with the same main feature. We put everything in this profile what can be found inside the case
And I would add that a "normal" profile covers a main feature on a single media type.
Quote:
Details for the main media type: Well, specific film details for the feature on the main medium, that's audio tracks, subtitles, running time. Features are not film details and not specific to a disc or film version, which means, all features go into the main profile.
I couldn't see where the combo set rule specified "film details", all I saw was
use the details from the main media, that is, we enter
media details in accordance with standard contribution rules.
Features may be specific to a disc, the standard rules for features on a main feature disc are explicit, they are tied to the main feature on that disc.
Are you mistaking the rule section titled "Film Details" with the combo set rule "media details" as they are not the same and I suspect this may be the main reason for our different interpretations?

But most important is that child profiles are optional. If they are not mandatory one would lose information if the features just go into the child profile. Not everyone cares about the included lesser medium. A lot of people just take it for the bonus materials. With TV shows separate child profiles per disc are allowed but optional as well, and everything goes into the main profile, too. Funfact: No one tries to force other users to download not necessary child profiles for TV shows. ;-)
I can't help but feel too much significance is given to the optional status of the child profile. Put simply, it reduces the workload.
With regards to features, I saw no difference to it being optional or mandatory, the result would still be the same, the child features would remain exclusively on the child profile. You still won't see the child's features in the main media.
The optional status does not magically transforms the child into a bonus material disc, it still remains a main feature disc.
The fear of missing out or inconvenience or lethargy are not valid rules and any reference to rules covering TV Series are not applicable to our discussion on the combo set rule and its consequences.
I'm just following the rules as best I can, and the more I discuss this subject, the more I realise the combo set rule is very straight-forward, if we stick to the rules as written.
