PluginsNew posts in this threadTool: Cast/Crew Edit 2  (1 2 3 ...49 )
For invidual movies I got this copilot thing working now (not yet for serials). Use the following prompt (adaping the movie name):

You are a precise web‑scraping and data‑transformation agent.

**TASK**
Retrieve the IMDb page for the film **“Mein Schulfreund” (1960), directed by Robert Siodmak**.
Navigate to the **Full Cast & Crew** section and extract **all crew credits**, explicitly **excluding all cast/acting information**.

---

## **DATA EXTRACTION RULES**

### **1. Person Name Parsing**
For each crew member, split the IMDb‑listed name into:
- **FirstName**
- **MiddleName**
- **LastName**

Rules:
- If the name has two parts → first = FirstName, second = LastName, MiddleName = `""`.
- If the name has more than two parts →
  - First token → FirstName
  - Last token → LastName
  - All tokens in between → MiddleName (space‑joined)
- Initials remain as written (e.g., “A.” stays “A.”).

---

### **2. Birth Year**
- If IMDb provides a birth year on the person’s profile → use that integer.
- If no birth year is available → use **0**.

---

### **3. CreditType and CreditSubtype Mapping**
Assign each credit to one of the following **CreditType** values:

- Direction
- Writing
- Production
- Cinematography
- Film Editing
- Music
- Sound
- Art
- Other

Then assign the appropriate **CreditSubtype**:

**Direction:** Director | Custom
**Writing:** Original Material by | Screenwriter | Writer | Original Characters | Created by | Story by | Developed by | Custom
**Production:** Producer | Executive Producer | Custom
**Cinematography:** Director of Photography | Cinematographer | Custom
**Film Editing:** Film Editor | Custom
**Music:** Composer | Song Writer | Theme by | Custom
**Sound:** Sound | Sound Designer | Supervising Sound Editor | Sound Editor | Sound Re‑Recording Mixer | Production Sound Mixer | Custom
**Art:** Production Designer | Art Director | Costume Designer | Make‑up Artist | Visual Effects | Make‑up Effects | Creature Design | Custom
**Other:** Custom

---

### **4. Optional Attributes**
- **CreditedAs** → include only if IMDb lists an alternative spelling (e.g., “as J.M. Simmel”).
- **CustomRole** → include only when:
  - The role is not covered by the allowed subtypes, or
  - The subtype is “Custom”.

Examples:
- “assistant director”
- “script consultant”
- “voice actor – dubbing (Italian)”

---

## **OUTPUT REQUIREMENTS**

Produce **one XML document** that **validates exactly** against the following XSD:

```xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <xs:element name="CrewInformation" type="CrewInformation"/>
    <xs:complexType name="CrewInformation">
        <xs:sequence>
            <xs:element name="Title" type="xs:string" minOccurs="1"/>
            <xs:element name="Credits" type="Credits"/>
        </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    <xs:complexType name="Credit">
        <xs:attribute name="FirstName" type="xs:string" use="required"/>
        <xs:attribute name="MiddleName" type="xs:string" use="required"/>
        <xs:attribute name="LastName" type="xs:string" use="required"/>
        <xs:attribute name="BirthYear" type="xs:int"/>
        <xs:attribute name="CreditType" type="xs:string" use="required"/>
        <xs:attribute name="CreditSubtype" type="xs:string" use="required"/>
        <xs:attribute name="CreditedAs" type="xs:string" use="optional"/>
        <xs:attribute name="CustomRole" type="xs:string" use="optional"/>
    </xs:complexType>
    <xs:complexType name="Credits">
        <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
            <xs:element name="Credit" type="Credit"/>
        </xs:choice>
    </xs:complexType>
</xs:schema>
```

### **XML Structure**
```xml
<CrewInformation>
    <Title>Mein Schulfreund – Crew (IMDb)</Title>
    <Credits>
        <!-- multiple <Credit .../> elements -->
    </Credits>
</CrewInformation>
```

---

## **GOAL**
Produce a **complete, lossless, XSD‑valid XML representation** of all crew credits for *Mein Schulfreund* (1960), with correct name parsing, birth‑year resolution, and role classification.

GsyLaunch 2.8.1

The most annoying things for me just after a program has been released are if I find a bug, or if I realize that I have overlooked something obvious that would have made the program better. In this case it is the latter.

The difference between an ordinary shortcut and a UWP shortcut is that GsyPlayer still needs the UWP shortcut. You can't just delete it. But you can move it away from the desktop. And that's what I initially suggested that the user would do. But for some reason I overlooked the (in hindsight blindingly obvious) solution to let GsyPlayer copy the entire shortcut to some suitable location and use it from there.

So in GsyPlayer 2.8.1, if you drop a UWP shortcut into it, the program copies the shortcut into its appdata folder and uses it from there. Thus you can delete the original shortcut and keep your desktop as clear as you like. So for the user it works just the same as dropping a regular shortcut (or an exe file).

In addition I have made two cosmetic changes. I don't know how to find out what the process name of a certain UWP program will be, so I cannot tell if it is running or not. So for UWP programs, the "Prevent double run" switch in the properties will be disabled. And the tooltip for the button will always have a grey background.

And as usual, if you have recently visited the web page, you may have to refresh your browser to see the latest change.

I had to vote No on your Van The Man contribution. The OT should be the release title from the USA: National Lampoon's Van Wilder.

huskersports You are so wrong at this one, here is the link to finish covers and upc

https://i.imgur.com/MmypueP.png

This finish language cover version are so much, different than english/usa version of the same covers

Here is screeshot of the basic information

https://i.imgur.com/ScSqlTN.png

I looked at your screenshots and profile and I believe Huskersport was correct about the original title.

The Finnish DVD title was "Van the Man", and you entered that correctly from the front cover.

However, the field labelled "alkuperäinen nimi" was for the original film title, and you entered "Van Wilder: Party Liaison".

This is the specific rule for Original Title:
"... For profiles which have an alternate title displayed on the cover, use the title from the film's credits. For titles released outside their country of origin, use the original release title."

So, if the film you watched displayed "Van Wilder: Party Liaison", that was indeed different from the cover title, however, this was a title released in Finland, so you need to check whether "Van Wilder: Party Liaison" was the same title used initially in the film's  country of origin (United States).

And the answer is, it was not a match, because the original title used in the United States was National Lampoon's Van Wilder, as per the following references:

CARA film rating for initial U.S. theatrical release

Hope that clarified the matter.

Desktop Technical SupportNew posts in this threadEditing the "Overview" field for a given profile.

When you start DVDP, a "Temp" folder is created in the username/AppData/Local/DVD Profiler/ folder on your Windows PC.

After opening the initial profile in DVDP, the program creates two temp files (with .DAT and .IDX extensions) in this Temp folder.

I do see those two files there, but they are always there, not created when I start editing. They do seem to get modified when I edit something though.

I bolded the above line to indicate when the two files are created in the Temp folder, that is, on opening the first profile after DVDP startup. These two temp files will exist until DVDP is shutdown.

The start of editing a profile triggers a backup of the profile's contents to these two temp files. That is why when you start editing the overview first, you see the cursor moving across the contents of the overview.

If you monitor your username/AppData/Local/DVD Profiler in file manager, you will see:
Start DVDP ==> Temp sub-folder created containing no files using .DAT and .IDX extensions
Stop DVDP ==>  Temp sub-folder deleted

Hope that helped.
