Quote: Yeah like people who insist features on the Blu-ray of a UHD/Blu-ray combo belong on the main profile even though that's not what the rules say because that's how they catalog their collection
That's not what the rules state. When a release has the same film but on different media types, a child profile for the inferior media type is optional. All features are supposed to be included in the main profile, just like how you include the different media types in the main profile. When it comes to audio and video formats then the main profile only uses those from the highest resolution format. | Posted: Topic Replies: 19, Topic Views: 6382 |

| I see this is now OBE, but I agree with you. Unfortunately, some contributors what the database to reflex how they catalog their collection rather than what the actual rules state. | Posted: Topic Replies: 19, Topic Views: 6382 |

Quote: I would consider the original title as "Boyka: Undisputed" as that is the title on the actual title card of the film itself with the title "Boyka: Undisputed 4" on the U.S. box artwork
The title card may not always be foolproof since they can be different depending on the region for the release. Is there information that's filed with some organization that provides what the original title was? | Posted: Topic Replies: 4, Topic Views: 3051 |

Quote: i have bought a few shout factory blu rays from Amazon lately that should have had slip covers but not on mine when orders came in. Recently i bought the kurt russell classics escape from ny and la. the la one came with a slip but not ny.
I recently found out that SF reduced their slipcover guarantee from 3 months down to 1 month and they'll only guarantee a slip if you order direct from them. This changed as of March 2025 which is very disappointing coming from this label. | Posted: Topic Replies: 5, Topic Views: 4044 |

Quote: I recently noticed an error in my online collection also, but it's different: newer additions to my collection (after 2025-08-04) are not appearing at all online.
I'm not seeing that issue. Can you provide any examples? | Posted: Topic Replies: 6, Topic Views: 6065 |

I still have one contribution from 8/10 and another from 8/11 that have yet to be approved (all yes votes) that seem to have been skipped. Time will tell if these are just lagging behind
EDIT: and those were just approved so all seems well. | Posted: Topic Replies: 26, Topic Views: 10976 |

Found this in the KB, have you tried this?
Quote: Receiving error message '??? is not a valid date. The program is unable to process new entries or updates, and gives an error message such as '12-1-2001 is not a valid date'.
Answer: DVD Profiler uses the windows regional settings to determine date formats. All numeric date formats, such as 12/1/2001, or 2001-12-1 will work correctly. However, date formats which use the month name are not compatible with DVD Profiler.
To resolve this, visit the Windows control panel, regional settings. For the Short Date format, select a format that uses numeric entries. Avoid selecting any format with 'MMM' for the month, which will use the month name. | Posted: Topic Replies: 3, Topic Views: 3333 |

Quote: No, it was just empty after I opened it after a few weeks since last activity. My collection is still online, but I don't know how to restore it into the desktop database. The "restore collection" option only supports .dpb files. The one you download from Invelos online is a .dod file.
Your database shouldn't have just disappeared. Have you checked to see that it's not available as another database... maybe a new database was created and it's set as the default?

Quote: Anyone else just lost their collection? My DVD Profiler desktop app is just empty. Online collection still exists. Downloading the onlinelist.dod file doesn't help. Any tips? Support service is unresponsive. I'm scared if I try to sync I'll just upload the empy database and delete the online one as well.
Did anything occur before the database became blank? It sounds like you may have created a new blank database. | Posted: Topic Replies: 12, Topic Views: 9165 |

I'm assuming your alternate profile shows a "#1" after the UPC number as it does in this example?

Quote: Here too. Finally. Interestingly, the website/servers did seem to go offline, for some, before this happened. It makes you wonder if they had a problem with the servers.
They went down shortly afterwards too and there was a page saying server maintenance was being performed. However, the process was relatively short. | Posted: Topic Replies: 26, Topic Views: 10976 |

| The site did go down for a brief period on July 26th so I'm assuming that wouldn't have affected the pending contributions since mine were approved on the 28th. Guess we'll see if they eventually get kicked out when later approvals get released. | Posted: Topic Replies: 93, Topic Views: 34176 |
