| | Posted: | | | | Roolku has enhanced the "Rainbow of Doom" skin and made it into something really wonderful. Make sure to read the readme.txt file, because there are many user-customizable features, which allow you to do much more with the skin.
Visit the official site: http://www.roolku.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/roolku/ for a list of the lastest features, download info, installation info.

| | Posted: | | | | Thanks for the first v2.0 skin.
Could I suggest you remove the $ from Purchase Info as it now reads something like: $£10.00 GBP.
Also, would it be possible to include easter eggs?
Cheers Roolku

| | Posted: | | | | I don't know why, but if i click on the info page and use the wheel down and i reach the end of the page, it jumps to my collection frame and start scrolling down my collection list. This doesn't happen with the original skins.
P.s. It looks nice and is enough info. |

| | Posted: | | | | | Skins that display beyond the screen area require scrolling. I think the default skin is sized for the desktop and omits the scroll bar. You'll probably find the same scrolling behaviour on all custom skins. I'm not sure if it's a DVD Profiler bug or feature to have scrolling getting confused between the titles frame and the profile frame. |

| | Posted: | | | | I just found out that if i select a DVD, then click in another field (like find) then click on the info page, it will not have this strange scroll behaviour. So i also think it's a glitch in DVD profiler. It looks like that the focus is not set to the info frame. |

| | Posted: | | | | I really like the look of this skin, but had some quibbles with the size and missing info. So I went ahead and re-coded it for a 1024x768 display (no scrolling required). It is stream-lined using css more consequently and has all extra 2.0 features included.
If disc-flipper agrees I can put it up here for you to judge. However I can also understand if he prefers me not to, in which case I will just keep it to myself.

| | Posted: | | | | Do it! I'd like to see your version of it. You may change the name and colours if you desire.
BTW - I've added Easter Eggs and removed the $ sign, Rolku.

Okay, here we go: http://web.onetel.net.uk/~robert_kukla/roolku.dps
I named your skin in the comment field. If you want more/other reference let me know.

Thanks. In my version the Eastereggs and Notes are part of the main text block. Have a look.

| | Posted: | | | | | I love the scroll you've put into the Overview/Notes/EasterEggs section! It makes each profile line up better. I noticed you've changed the silver background, which is fine. I may use yours instead of mine! The DVD Info and Personal Info sections are a great idea. You've reduced the actor's list to 8 names? No big deal to me. Some people want a full actor list, but for me, any names beyond 8 or 10 probably aren't very important roles anyways. People should feel free to alter the rainbow colors to whatever scheme they'd like: perhaps a range of warm colours, a range of cool colours, earthy colours, etc. The broad rainbow spectrum seems to compliment whatever DVD case is shown. I noticed you've reduced the cover size slightly, which doesn't have too much of a negative effect. I'll probably go with yours, except I'll change the grey background back to the silver stripes. |

| | Posted: | | | | I am glad you like it.
Like I said, my main concern was to put everything into the available space on a 1024x768 display without the need to scroll and to preserve the gleaming look I liked so much about your design. It nearly works; only very few disks in my collection have the last line obscured - mainly the ones with extremly many soundtracks or with funny shaped (slim) pictures.

I agree. That was the first thing I changed, because long texts would push out all the other info.

I actually prefer the metallic look, but I wanted something that would tile seamlessly and be a little brighter. This was the only thing I could find - maybe I have another look.
I also resized the colour tiles as for DVDs with more than two Genres you could see the seams. (I am so anal about that, sorry )
Where did you get them anyway? I really like the gleaming/shiny look of them.

It looks a little odd when info is missing, but it is the best I could do with the limits of the tags and the little space.

Yes, it is unfortunate, I know. I would really love to be able to scroll them like the overview. Unfortunately the actors tag contains <NOBR> tags which makes it impossible. Maybe I will come up with another idea using jscript.
Talking about jscript: I have added enlarge-on-mousover for the cover image. What do your think: http://web.onetel.net.uk/~robert_kukla/roolku102.dps
Thanks again for letting me mess with your skin.

| | Posted: | | | | okay, after studying the css specs some more, I have now added scrolling (only when neccessary) for actors and audio and also reworked the overview to conform with the rest. Here is the new version: http://web.onetel.net.uk/~robert_kukla/roolku103.dps

| | Posted: | | | | The scrolling actors list is great.
I like the mouseover effect too. It's great for revealing the back cover artwork!
The gleaming colours I created myself with effects on Paint Shop Pro.
I think I'll be using your skin enhancements from now on.
It would be nice if they added codes for box sets and review entries. Oh, I just noticed that you took out the Reviews display.

Excellent. Maybe I should give it a go myself. But then, I am usually crap with graphics.

Yes, it didn't fit unfortunately.
I considered putting in into the rating box (since it is a kind of rating) but the colors clashed horribly. How do you like this version? http://web.onetel.net.uk/~robert_kukla/roolku104.dps |

| | Posted: | | | | rolku,
I've tried this skin and I think it's excellent (inc the new Review bar).
Any change you're planning to produce different resolutions, I use 1152 x 864 at home??
Also one suggestion. Could you put a little delay in to the mouseover for expanding the picture? This would stop it jumping about if you move the mouse over it by mistake.

Not very likely ATM, I am afraid. My monitor can only do 1024x768 and it is therefore hard to evaluate the effects. Maybe if I get bored at work...

Here I can help you: http://web.onetel.net.uk/~robert_kukla/roolku105.dps
The delay is currently set to 200ms which means you can swipe the mouse pointer across without enlargement but it is not too much a delay if you actually want it to enlarge. The value can be changed according to taste by setting
var WAIT_IN_MSECS=200;
in line 24 to whatever value you prefer.
